This conference is designed to help educators learn how to effectively implement a standards-based grading system.  Educators from Solon, Clear Creek Amana, and Van Meter Schools are hosting the event for secondary educators, administrators, and others interested in learning more about SBG.

Tanya Lemburg has served as a life sciences teacher at Williamsburg High School since 2007.  She teaches courses in general biology, advanced placement biology, human anatomy and physiology, environmental sustainability (Project Lead the Way) and environmental science (a dual credit class through Kirkwood Community College).  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Mount Mercy University in 2002 and in biochemistry from the University of Iowa in 2004.  Her master’s degree in teaching is from the University of Iowa.  Tanya began implementing some aspects of personalization into her classroom during the 2013-2014 school year and Standard-Based Grading following shortly after.  Currently, she is working on implementing a blended learning model.
